AMS was honored to do the lighting for the New Haven Open at Yale last week. We lit up the main event tent with a 58 fixture, two-tier up wash system as well as custom logos for all of the primary sponsors. This was clearly the largest operation that AMS has ever been involved in. The event was organized by the amazing event planner Bruno Baghetta, who we were very fortunate to meet.
Day one was the New Haven food and wine festival. It was amazing. Dozens and dozens of high-end food and wine boutiques giving out samples of their best products. We sampled goat cheese/Belgian chocolate brownies, all sorts of desserts and I even got to eat a five-year-old piece of cheese. Day two was a fashion show. It was a show like many we’ve done before but it was interesting that they used some of the female tennis players as models. The fashion show also had a Caribbean island theme and there was even a steel drum Caribbean band.
In addition to Bruno being wonderful to work with, the facility and venues were amazing. There was a never ending supply of help from the staff, particularly the electricians who basically followed us around the entire time making sure everything was okay. It was also nice that there was a hospitality tent overflowing with food, snacks and beverages. It’s worth mentioning the VIP parking just a few yards from the tent.
AMS is proud to now be involved with the New Haven open at Yale and we look forward to working together again in the future.
